Course Participant Role

As a course participant, you may apply for participation in a JupyterHub in order to get your personal course-related Jupyter Notebook.
You don't need any specific role for applying a JupyterHub, but you need to be registered at the JHaaS portal.
Applying for JupyterHub participation
Once your course leader provided you with an invitation link, you might apply for participation. This participation request is in pending state until your course leader accepts or rejects your pending participtaion request.
Participating a JupyterHub
On the JHaaS Portal, open the Participation tab. You will be presented sets with pending, accepted and rejected participations. On the individual cards you can also see if the JupyterHub is online, ended or not yet started.
If there is an accepted participation for an online hub, you may just click on open and the JupyterHub will start your personal Jupyter Notebook. Beware that the first start may take some time, but subsequent starts will be faster.
Beware that you must backup the data in your Jupyter Notebook regularly. The Jupyter Notebook will likely be destroyed at the end of your course. It may be destroyed even earlier, depending of the configuration of your course leader and the governance.
